Would you call it a simple coincidence?

OK, here goes... The strangest thing happened to me tonight. I was watching History Rocks on the History Channel and there was this segment on Marilyn Monroe and her death. The segment mentioned how Joe diMaggio her ex-husband claimed her body from the morgue and arranged for her funeral when no one came to claim her. Apparently he also kept sending half a dozen red roses to her crypt for the next 20 years - until 1982. And he never remarried. I was intrigued and looked up this man who I knew better as the Yankee batter on Wikipedia (long live the Wiki Project!). The article on Wikipedia gave me a lot of details and also mentions that Joe diMaggio had been referenced in many contemporary TV shows including The Simpsons and Seinfeld. This was around 9:30 in the evening. Cut to 3 hours later and I'm watching Seinfeld, and gues what? The very episode in question is on Star World!!! I was simply stunned. I got goosebumps!!! Would you call this just pure and simple coincidence??? I'm not too sure!! I've had a lot of Deja-vus but nothing like this before!!!!

Eddie IS comin to India!!!

Oh Boy!!!! Never ever did I expect to say this in my lifetime!!!! So here goes: Eddie's comin to India and I'm gonna be there to see him!!!! Hahahaha!!!! Any Metal-Head will tell you - the sight of Eddie on the stage with Steve, Bruce, Dave, Janick, Nicko and Adrian can be quite orgasmic!! (Hopefully I won't wet my pants!!!!) Ah the bliss!!! I jus hope the crowd in Bangalore on 17th is not the usual pseudo socialite wannabes who think its 'in' to be seen in a concert!!! Well they ain't gonna be too pleased with this gig!!! I've been gettin news that the Desert Rock Festival was a smash!!! Funny thing is that the tickets to the show in bangalore say no alcohol and tobacco allowed inside the venue!!! Man!!! What are we supposed to get high on??? Thin air n sweat??? Grow up u roganisers!!! This is Iron Maiden and not Shakira or Nelly Furtado performing for some primary school kids! Well this aint gonna dampen my spirit though... Hopefully Steve and the guys stay on stage for atleast 2 hours and play quite a bit of the old numbers as this will be the first time they'll be in India - and by Satan I hope its not the last!!!!

Jim Morrison

This morning I got the chance to watch Oliver Stone's biography of The Doors, undisputedly the best band of the late 60's... Jim Morrison, The Lizard King, is truly a class apart and befits his priviledge of being interred at the Poets' Corner in Paris. The man was a true team player who never wanted to have his name overshadow that of The Band. But thus is the way of prodigy and genius that even today when you us the name The Doors, the only thing that comes to mind is Jim... Everytime you hear a pice by The Doors, you wonder if this could have been made possible without the generous dose of psychedelic drugs the band, and Morrison in particular, used in copious amounts. My opinon - Hell No!!! How can you possibly write lyrics like those on Riders on the Storm, The End and Break on Through unless you are in between two worlds???? And a fitting tribute to Jim's greatness was the fact that the remaining members of the band Ray, John and Robby never added a new member to sing after the mysterious demise of James Douglas Morisson in 1971. No other band that I can think of has shown such dedication to its members ( well maybe Def Leppard when they waited for their drummer to learn to play with one hand) and no one can hope to do so too in the materialistic world that is today... Music for the sake of music is long dead and cannot hope for a resurrection. Of those here today?? Well I like Metallica, though they are commercial in every sense, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth etc. etc... They all make good music. I also love the sound of Rammstein... Music is a passion for me... though I cant play any instruments even if I'm peering down the barrel of a gun!!!! Can lsiten to most styles though am hooked to Heavy Metal and Western classical.... Have an iPod that has 15Gb of music n still greowing... Enuf ranting for now... C ya later...

Midnight Musings

Its 12:38hrs on the 14th and I'm sittin here with the TV showing Bush tryin to justify the actions of the Jewish state!!! Funny when you see a guy who cant even speak right trying to tell a lie!!! Now they are showin the aftermath of the bomb blasts in Bombay... The story of this little kid of 8 or 10 who's in ICU of Bhagwathi Hospital with no one sayin he's their child... Could his parents both have died??? Or are they injured and in some other ward??? Time will tell... And Kasuri has the audacity to say terror will stop when Kashmir is settled! And now there's news that the cops in Mumbai and Delhi are using the Shoe-shine boys and coolies to help gather intelligence... A nice move if you ask me. I'm sure they'll do a much better job than the cops themselves!!! Well it reined in Chennai yesterday... So its been extremely hot today!!! Story of Chennai!!!! Oh! My bike is spewing smoke... need to get to the mechanic again... Alrighty then... Till later... Ciao!!!!
